Kirklees College Academy looking to unearth even more talent

Correspondent

The LoveRugbyLeague.com sponsored Kirklees College RL Academy has announced its first trial date for the 2013/14 academic year.

After a successful 2012/13 season which saw 4 College players selected to represent the Yorkshire Colleges team, this is an exciting time to join the College’s RL development programme.

Academy players combine their college work with technical training sessions on the pitch, strength and conditioning work in the College’s brand new gym, and fixtures for the academy team on Wednesday afternoons. All college rugby commitments are completed during regular college hours so students are still available to play for their community clubs at the weekend.

Details of the trials are:

Date: 17th April

Venue: Leeds Rd Sports Complex, HD2 1YY

Start time: 2pm

Trialists are required to bring training kit, football boots and a gum shield.

The trials will be overseen by Rugby League Academy head coach Ben Black, and will last no more than 2 hours. There will be staff there to discuss your academic course and answer any questions you might have.

Any players interested in attending trials should inform sportsacademy@kirkleescollege.ac.uk, ensuring they include their name, date of birth. For any further information, please call 01484 437053.
