Warrington back rower George King, 20, has agreed a one-year contract extension at the Wolves.

Academy centre Harvey Linnet, 19, has also signed a full-time deal for the first time.

“George has really come on this year,” said Warrington head of coaching Tony Smith.

“He’s had a fantastic season having played 19 matches, developing from being a replacement player to starting the last four games.

“He’s progressed exceptionally well and we are really pleased that he has penned another deal. We believe he has a really bright future and will hopefully go on to bigger and better things here at Warrington. We are delighted for George and the club.

“We recognise that Harvey has some real potential. He’s been training with the full-time squad throughout parts of this year to get a taste of it and he’s been exceptional in his attitude.

“He’s earned his position in the squad and I can see him going on to have a good future with us.

“The U19s had a really strong year. After a slow start they really progressed well, with a number of young players who will continue to develop, as well as players who have already progressed through to first-team training.

“It’s been a good, solid year for these boys – making it one game away from the Grand Final – a tremendous experience for all involved.

“Congratulations to Lee and the team for all their efforts this year; they have really shown what a good bunch of lads we have here.”
