Johnny Nelson tips Wigan to win Super League Grand Final

Sky Sports boxing pundit Johnny Nelson believes Wigan are going to beat St Helens in Friday’s Super League Grand Final.

Rivals Wigan and St Helens will meet in Super League’s showpiece event on Friday night at the KCOM Stadium in Hull.

Former professional boxer Nelson has tipped the Warriors to be crowned Super League champions.

“I’m going Wigan because of my old friend Ellery Hanley,” Nelson said. “He was the don in his day and that’s what got my attention to Wigan.

“I think Wigan have won it five times and St Helens have won it six times and they are the current champions but I’m thinking Wigan are going to play old school and turn back the clock.”

Sky Sports’ head of boxing Adam Smith replied to Nelson: “I don’t agree with you at all. I watched both semi-finals, they were fantastic and I can’t wait for the final.

“I think St Helens will have the edge, the reigning champions I think will be too good. St Helens will win this.”

Sky Sports presenter Anna Woolhouse added: “I’m going St Helens.”
