Joe Bretherton extends Toulouse stay

Toulouse prop Joe Bretherton has signed a two-year contract extension with the club, with the option of a further year.

The 24-year-old has scored 14 tries in 44 appearances since joining the French club on an initial loan in 2018 before he made the move permanent.

Bretherton said: “I am grateful to the club for giving me this opportunity and I am really against staying, hoping to contribute to the rise of Toulouse in the Super League.

“I feel at home in Toulouse now and being part of this project is an honour for me.”

Toulouse president Bernard Sarrazain added: “Joe is a great person, personally as well as sportingly.

“Despite his very good performances, he is still young for his position which requires a lot of experience. I am sure he has not finished surprising us.”
