The Jamaican National Club Championship (NCC) marks a decade of its existence, when it kicks off for its latest campaign this weekend.

Defending champions GC Foster Lions take on Duhaney Park Red Sharks, Vauxhall Vultures, The Jamaica Defence Force, Spanish Town Vikings and last season’s runners-up, Liguanea Dragons over the course of the new season.

The competition’s Grand Final takes place on October 3.

“Last season was great for us as we had GC Foster Lions winning a national title for the first time,” said JRLA director of rugby Romeo Monteith.

“This year, all the teams are looking strong and there is no clear favourite. Every game will matter as teams jostle for play-off positions and some exciting rugby league will be played.”
