Canterbury’s Jamal Idris will miss Sunday’s clash with Cronulla after a breach of team protocol, the club have announced.
Idris missed training with the Bulldogs on Monday and consequently will not be considered for selection by coach Kevin Moore.
“Jamal made a mistake and he is paying a high price for it,” said Moore.
“He breached team protocol and as such he was not considered for selection in the team to play the Sharks.
“We set high standards at the Bulldogs and we expect all players to meet those standards. The simple fact is Jamal hasn’t lived up to expectations and as such he will miss this week’s game.
“Jamal understands the move the Club has taken and he’s given us an assurance that he will work hard to get back into the side.”
Rookie centre Tim Lafai has been named in Idris’ place.
