Ian Watson confirms season-ending injuries to Kevin Brown and Ryan Lannon
Salford head coach Ian Watson has confirmed season-ending injuries to both Kevin Brown and Ryan Lannon.
Both players featured in the 17-16 Challenge Cup final defeat to Leeds, with Watson confirming that Brown played through injury to feature at Wembley.
In the latest club press conference, Watson said: “When I say Kev’s done amazing, he’s done above and beyond to have got himself playing in a cup final. We kept it really quiet with Kev.
“Kev’s probably going to go in for an operation now, which will probably see him maybe not come back this season. But for Kev to do what he did in the semi-finals and to get through to the final. He’s been phenomenal for us, to even get there and play.
“We’ve had a little bit of bad luck with that as well, that Ryan Lannon’s got the same injury. He did the same injury yesterday in training.
“He’s going to be out for the rest of the season as well now. So that probably tells you how much Kev’s kind of pushed through the pain barrier to play in the Challenge Cup final. But obviously for Lannon, it’s about making sure that he’s right for next year.”
