Leigh centre Iain Thornley has signed a new one-year deal with the club.

The 28-year-old joined the Centurions ahead of last season from Catalans, scoring 16 tries in 32 games for the club.

Leigh coach John Duffy said: “I thought Iain was outstanding last season.

“Coming back home from France where I know he had things tough, missing his family, it was good to bring him to Leigh.

“He’s a local lad who came through at Ashton Bears and he’s absolutely loved it here and I think you’ve seen that in his performances.

“Iain was really consistent and really stands up when it gets tough. We needed to keep him on board and we’re delighted to have him.”
