Hull KR have confirmed the signing of winger Fouad Yaha from Catalans Dragons on a two-week loan deal with immediate effect.

The signing announcement follows the confirmation that experienced winger Ryan Hall is set to undergo a minor operation.

The 35-year-old England international, who has scored nine tries in 14 appearances in 2023, will go through a pre-planned surgery to clean out a knee joint.

Yaha meanwhile is Catalans’ all-time record try scorer, having crossed for 100 tries in 151 appearances since his debut in 2015.

The 26-year-old has been limited to just two appearances this season, having only recently returned from a dislocated shoulder sustained during pre-season training.

He becomes Hull KR’s second loan signing from the French outfit this week following the addition of French full-back Tanguy Zenon on a short-term loan.

Zenon, just 21, made his debut in the Challenge Cup quarter-final tie against Salford, scoring in the 28-10 victory at Craven park.

Head coach Willie Peters noted that Yaha will fill the gap left by Hall, who is only expected to miss the Super League clash with Wakefield next week.

“We’ve picked up a very experienced winger in Fouad (Yaha), who is a great pick up at this time of the season for us,” Peters said.

“He’s a powerful, out and out winger and that’s what we need at the moment.

“He’s the perfect player to fill the shoes of Ryan (Hall) these next couple of weeks.”

Yaha has also won seven caps for France on the international stage, and featured against Greece and Samoa at last year’s World Cup in England during the group stages.
