Hull KR have recalled Luis Johnson back to the club from his loan spell at fellow Super League outfit Castleford Tigers.

The 24-year-old linked up with Andy Last’s squad earlier in April on a season-long loan, with a recall option after two weeks.

Injuries has seen head coach Willie Peters recall the back-rower, who came through the youth ranks at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle.

Johnson made his Castleford  debut during a victory over neighbours Wakefield during Rivals Round. He went on to make four appearances in total during his stint at Wheldon Road.

Castleford added in a statement: “Everyone at the Fords would like to thank Luis for his efforts and wish him well for the future.”

Injury concerns at Hull KR

Head coach Peters is currently without playmakers Jordan Abdull, Rowan Milnes and Lachlan Coote due to respective injuries, while Matt Parcell was forced from the action with a head knock against Warrington at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

International half-back Abdull, 27, continues to be sidelined with a quad injury.

Full-back Coote, 33, sustained a hamstring tear against Huddersfield, while Milnes, 23, suffered a broken hand in the same 28-o victory at Craven Park.

Sauaso Sue will serve his one-match suspension this week following a Grade B dangerous contact charge against Daryl Powell’s side.

Connor Barley was also recalled from his loan spell with Championship side York earlier this week, with Hull KR set to host Batley this Friday in the sixth round of the Challenge Cup.
