Hull KR duo Sam Latus and Richard Beaumont have penned new two-year deals with the club.

Winger Latus, now 21, has featured 11 times in 2011 and has scored 3 tries, including a try in the Robins 24-22 victory over St Helens at Craven Park last Sunday.

Commenting on the new deal, Latus said “I’ve worked hard over the last couple of years and got a few games under my belt so hopefully in the next two years I can kick on and try to cement my place in the team.

“I want to hopefully build on my reputation here and have a long career at Hull KR.”

23-year-old prop forward Beaumont is in his second year as a full time professional after spending nearly a decade with the club after coming through the scholarship and academy set up.

“It’s everything I’ve wanted to do,” said Beaumont after signing his new two-year contract.

“I’ve been at the club for a long time and I wanted to sign a two-year deal so I’m very happy with that.

“My aim this year was to get back from the injury and get 100% fit then make my debut.  I’ve done that and I want to have a massive year next year and be a regular in the team.”

Rovers Chief Executive Mike Smith said the signings once again reaffirmed the club’s commitment to developing home grown talent.

“Sam and Richard are both players to come through our Academy structure and break into the first team so we’re very pleased that they have chosen to continue their development at Craven Park,” said Smith.

“At the core of next year’s squad is already a large number of players from the city and many of which we have nurtured as a club.

“That’s what we’re striving for and I’m sure we’ll see many more players follow in the footsteps of Sam and Richard over the next couple of years.”
