Hull KR announce departures of trio

Hull KR have confirmed that Josh Drinkwater, Chris Atkin and James Greenwood will leave the club at the end of the season.

Half-back Drinkwater, 27, has scored six tries in 30 appearances in his sole season at the Robins.

Utility Atkin, 26, has scored 14 tries in 65 games for the Robins and has strongly been linked with a move to Salford for 2020.

And forward Greenwood, 28, has played 92 games for Hull KR but suffered a season-ending ACL injury earlier this year.

Hull KR coach Tony Smith said: “I’ve enjoyed my time with all three of those young men in terms of working and alongside them.

“Unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to coach James but he’s been a pleasure around the place and a professional in terms of how he’s been rehabbing.

“Chris and Josh have been tremendous and I wish them well in their future careers.

“It’s been a short but enjoyable time spent with them on my behalf but we all wish them the best of luck in the future.”
