Hull FC release Danny Langtree

Drew Darbyshire

Hull FC have terminated the contract of back-rower Danny Langtree with immediate effect.

The 28-year-old only joined the Black and Whites in the off-season from League 1 side Oldham, but failed to make competitive appearance in Lee Radford’s first-team.

Langtree has played three games for Doncaster this season via dual-registration. He also made four appearances for Hull’s reserve side.

At the time he signed for FC, Langtree was just one of a number of lower league players who earned a deal in the top-flight, following on from the likes of Chris Hankinson (Wigan), Joe Bullock (Wigan), Joe Batchelor (St Helens) and Matt Davis (Warrington).

Langtree came through the academy ranks at St Helens and had scored 54 tries in 131 appearances for the Roughyeds, where he was Championship One Player of the Year back in 2014.
