Huddersfield sign Warrior Mossop

Young Wigan back-rower Lee Mossop has joined Super League rivals Huddersfield on a month’s loan.

Mossop, 20, has just returned to the JJB Stadium from a month’s loan at Barrow, who had wanted to take him back to Cumbria. The Raiders had taken him to Craven Park after he impressed for the Warriors in the Challenge Cup clash between the two earlier this season.

But Huddersfield last week expressed an interest in the youngster, and he has now moved to the Galpharm Stadium.

Wigan Head Coach Brian Noble said: “For some of our players the reserves is great but for some they need to play at a higher level and if that’s the Championship or Super League we’ll enable them to do that.”

Centre Darrell Goulding has already been loaned out to Salford this season.

Meanwhile, Giants back rower Joe Walsh has joined Championship side Sheffield Eagles on loan, while winger Richard Lopag has moved to Championship 1 side Swinton in a similar deal.
