Horne blow for Hull

Hull half back Richard Horne has been ruled out of Saturday’s trip to Catalans with a torn side muscle.

Horne, 27, missed a large chunk of last season through injury, and will probably not play for the Airlie Birds until their clash with Wigan on September 4.

Coach Richard Agar said: “He has torn his lat, which is an unusual injury but we have got to be careful with it. He will probably miss this week and next week.”

Agar is hoping to call upon former New Zealand Warriors prop Hame Lauaki for the first time.

The Tongan international was signed at the beginning of the season but visa issues delayed his arrival until July.

Agar added: “Hame is getting there. We hope he is fit enough and gets the clearance to play – if he doesn’t I think he’ll kill someone on the training field.

“He is that het up with frustration he just wants to get on the park.

“In what is a short career he has already lost nearly a year and so he’s desperate to get out there.”
