Henjak commits to Broncos

Brisbane have announced that head coach Ivan Henjak has extended his contract to remain in charge of the club until 2012.

Henjak was offered the deal by the Broncos board before Christmas but says he’s delighted to remain in charge.

“I am really pleased and honoured to be given another chance to continue a job we started last season,” said Henjak.

“I am especially thankful of the faith shown me by the board. They stuck by me through some difficult times last year and I have appreciated that support.

“We have a young and inexperienced group again this year but that kind of support will help us in our quest to stay on the top rungs of the NRL.”

Broncos’ chief executive Bruno Cullen welcomed Henjak’s decision.

“On behalf of chairman Darryl Somerville and the board I congratulate Ivan on not only his new appointment, but on his first year as a head coach,” said Cullen.

“His achievements in that first season made this an easy decision for the board and we wish him and his young squad ongoing success for the next three years.”

The Broncos have also announced a brand new sponsorship deal with car makers Audi.

“Like the Broncos and Ivan, I think Audi Centre Brisbane and the Brisbane Broncos are also a wonderful fit,” added Cullen.

“Both brands are benchmarks in their industries and I believe this new sponsorship – that includes a close alliance with Ivan – will be the start of a long and comfortable relationship.”
