London coach Andrew Henderson remains upbeat despite his team’s loss to Leigh and believes they still have a good chance in the Middle 8s.

London went down 34-30 to Leigh in an intense game that saw Jamie Soward and Greg Worthington sent off for fighting.

Leigh raced to a 34-8 lead before the Broncos crossed for four quick tries in a barnstorming finish.

“I’m proud of the players’ effort, attitude and commitment, as we competed hard,” Henderson said.

“It was an even first half and we were unfortunate to be behind at half time. The reality, however, is, we didn’t start the second half well enough.

“The team showed immense character to finish the stronger of the two teams.

“What it highlights, is we can compete with the best teams at this level, as Leigh are a Super League team in my eyes.”

“It’s important that we hold on to the attitude, commitment, energy and intent that we showed,” Henderson said.

“We will work hard to maintain this and fix up a few areas. I believe this team still has a good chance in the Qualifiers.”
