Heffernan: We’re building towards bigger things

Andrew Heffernan says he’s delighted to have signed a new two-year deal with Hull KR and believes the club will secure promotion back to the Super League.

Heffernan has been in fine form this season as Rovers seek an immediate return to the top flight and the 22-year-old insists they can make it back at the first time of asking.

“I set out to come here and play some decent football and try to repay the fans and the club for the opportunity I was given,” he told the Hull Daily Mail.

“The main thing for me is that I’m enjoying my football and whilst something is working you don’t want to change it.

“From the strength and conditioning department to the coaching staff and most importantly the fans, everybody has been behind me 100 percent and I couldn’t ask for more.

“I want to play for the club and the badge and I’m really excited to be part of it, so hopefully over the next two years we can do some big things.

“Promotion is the aim and with some more inclusions over the next few weeks the squad will get better. We are building towards bigger things.”
