Parramatta full-back Jarryd Hayne has been ruled out for four weeks with a torn ligament in his right foot.

Hayne, 24, suffered the injury during Wednesday’s State of Origin decider, and will sit out Sunday’s clash against Manly.

Coach Stephen Kearney is yet to name a replacement to take Hayne’s place in the line-up, although the Eels are hopeful that Hayne may be able to return earlier dependent on the progress of his recovery.

Hayne has scored eight tries in 11 games in the NRL this season, tasting victory three times in a difficult season for the Eels.

He sustained the injury as New South Wales narrowly missed out on ending their run of consecutive Origin series defeats, eventually going down 21-20 to Queensland.
