Guy Armitage gets Toulouse chance

Toulouse have taken former rugby union centre Guy Armitage on a trial until the end of the month.

Armitage, 29, switched codes with London Broncos in 2019 and had loan spells at London Skolars and Doncaster.

A former England U20 rugby union international, he played for London Irish, Wasps and London Welsh in the 15-man code.

He scored three tries in the first five games of the 2020 season with the Broncos, before the pandemic brought the season to a halt.

Ottawa Aces then made a move to sign him for 2021, only for that deal to fall through when they deferred their entry in to League 1.

That saw him head to France with Villefranche in the Elite 2 Championship, but that competition is yet to resume due to COVID.

The three-quarter now has a chance to impress Toulouse coach Sylvain Houles.

Guy’s older brothers Delon and Steffon are both full England rugby union internationals and have played in France’s Top 14 competition.
