Greene extends All Golds deal

Former Hull academy centre James Greene has signed a new deal at Championship 1 side Gloucestershire All Golds.

He moved to the All Golds on a University of Gloucestershire Rugby League scholarship in 2011, and played a key role in the Hull side that won the 2009 Carnegie Floodlit 9s.

All Golds chief executive Rob Webber said: “James has been a solid member of the All Golds team in 2013, acting as player coach. He’s brought a wealth of knowledge, both on and off the field, from his time with Hull FC.

“His dedication and commitment to the Golden Fern is commendable and we are delighted to have him on board for the coming season.”

Greene has combined playing with acting as assistant to All Golds Head Coach Brad Hepi, but has been limited to just four appearances in 2013 due to injury.

He said: “It feels great to be given another opportunity to play with the golden fern on my chest. I’ve had a terrible season due to injuries that rolled over from the student BUCS season. The aim now is to have a good off-season and come back stronger next year.”
