French Magic: Three players who impressed in Limoux’s victory against Lezignan

Drew Darbyshire

Limoux beat Lezignan in a fiery clash, and we’ve picked out the three standout players in the match.

Lezignan 6-14 Limoux

Amine Miloudi (Lezignan)

The 23-year-old is an exciting full-back with bags of ability. He is super quick and terrorised the Limoux defence with his tricky footwork at times.

Miloudi came up with a try saving tackle in the 58th minute of the game. He is an aggressive player in defence and gets under the skin of his opposition.

He is the younger brother of France international Hakim, who is currently playing for Super League’s newly-promoted club Toronto Wolfpack.

Shaun Nona (Limoux)

Nona is one of Limoux’s ex-pat players this season. The half-back dictated play with his cool, calm and collected kicking game.

The 29-year-old has previously played for Northern Pride, Easts Tigers, Wynnum Manly Seagulls and Townsville Blackhawks.

Nona has also spent time in the systems at Melbourne Storm and St George Illawarra Dragons. He isn’t a flashy half-back but he is a good organiser and is an excellent kicker. He was the difference in the game.

Cyril Stacul (Lezignan)

Stacul will be a familiar name to Super League fans. The 35-year-old enjoyed six seasons at Catalans between 2007-12.

The Frenchman scored 21 tries in 67 appearances for the Dragons, earning 16 caps for his country during that time.

Stacul was a centre while at Catalans but he has turned into a back-rower now. He is a powerful ball carrier and a true leader for the Sangliers.
