Fax centre signs new deal

Halifax centre James Haley has signed a new two-year deal at The Shay.

The 24-year-old is closing in on a testimonial season having joined the club as a 16-year-old in 2000, before making his debut in 2004.

Haley said: “It’s still two years away yet, but it would be a nice achievement for me.

“I was pleased to sign and it shows I have been happy here over the years. I supported the club when I was a kid and I enjoy playing for them.

“At the moment, I cannot see myself going anywhere else because the club’s aspirations and mine are the same.”

Fax director of football Martin Hall is busy tying up the table topping squad to extended deals, and contracts have already been given to the likes of Bob Beswick, Ben Black and Sean Penkywicz.
