Stanley Gene could miss Hull KR‘s important Elimination Play-off tie against Wigan Warriors on Saturday evening after being charged by the RFL’s Disciplinary Panel of behaviour contrary to the true spirit of the game.

The incident occurred in the 18th minute of the Robins’ 44-8 loss to Leeds on Friday, where video evidence showed Gene using his hands to make unnecessary contact with the face and eyes of Rhinos full-back Brent Webb.

The range of sanctions, if found guilty, could see Gene suspended for upto four games.

Ryan McGoldrick of Castleford Tigers has also been charged too after he made an high-tackle on Cameron Phelps in yesterday’s Elimination tie against Wigan. He could be suspended for the first two games of the 2010 season.

Wakefield’s Richard Moore also received a formal caution, whilst Leeds’ Rob Burrow also received a warning letter.
