Stuart Dickens has agreed a one year extension to his contract, keeping him at Featherstone until 2013.

The news comes as Dickens becomes the second significant player in two weeks to commit his future to the Big Fellas Stadium after Jonny Hepworth extended his contract last week.

Dickens recently made his 400th appearance for the club, and says he is delighted to be staying at the Rovers for at least another 12 months.

He said: “Since Daryl Powell has come to the club it’s really progressed and there’s a great bunch of lads here and I wanted to continue to be a part of it.

“The last couple of weeks have shown much the club has grown on and off the field and hopefully I can continue to contribute on the field to take the club on to the next level.”

Head coach Powell said: “Stuart has passed 400 games for Featherstone Rovers only a matter of weeks ago and is still playing as well now.

“His leadership is first class and his game continues to improve from week to week. I am thrilled he will continue his career at a club that is most special to him.”
