Dewsbury sign Scotland international

Dewsbury have signed centre Harvey Burnett for the 2019 season.

The 23-year-old has previously played for London Broncos and Oxford. He joined Bradford Bulls ahead of 2018 but was released due to his work commitments.

Burnett has international honours with Scotland, earning four caps for the Bravehearts.

On joining the Rams, Burnett said: “It is a great opportunity to play at Championship level, I have had a pretty rocky road coming from the south, and nothing has been clean cut.

“It sounds like a good chance for me and with Lee [Greenwood] being head coach, it was one that I couldn’t turn down.

“The north is the birthplace of rugby league and whilst there were opportunities down south, they are few and far between, so there is more chances to get a club up here.

“It was certainly the next step for me, and with the way Lee talks and with the way the club is set up, it is a great opportunity – not just for me but for the club to kick on.”

Burnett has made 44 career appearances to date.
