Catalans star David Mead has been ruled out for eight to 10 weeks after suffering an adductor tendon injury.

The Papua New Guinea captain was taken off a stretcher in last Thursday’s 22-12 defeat at Wakefield Trinity, and scans revealed the extent of the injury.

Mead faces eight to 10 weeks on the sidelines, and joins fellow Dragons outside-back Jodie Broughton, who also faces a lengthy injury lay-off.

A former Brisbane Broncos and Gold Coast Titans player, Mead has scored 15 tries in 33 games for the Dragons since joining the Perpignan club ahead of last season.
