Darren Hawkyard out for a month

Swinton back rower Darren Hawkyard will be out for at least a month after breaking his hand against Whitehaven.

But prop Neil Holland is back in contention to face Batley at Mount Pleasant on Sunday (2pm).

Coach Gary Chambers said: “It’s a disappointment to lose Daz but it’s a straight forward break and we’re confident he will be back in a month or so.

Ian Watson is recovering well from his knee operation and Neil Holland is back.

“So we are in a good position injury-wise.

“Batley are going well and came close against at Featherstone at the weekend.

“We will have to go toe to toe with them in the forwards and give ourselves a platform to build on.

“We had a good result against Whitehaven and we want to improve with every game.”
