North Queensland chief Peter Jourdain has confirmed the Cowboys are among a handful of clubs under the spotlight following the NRL doping scandal.

The club released a statement yesterday, in which Jourdain said the Cowboys had been contacted by the NRL after being named in the Australian Crime Commission’s (ACC) report into the use of illicit drugs in several Australian sports.

“We have been mentioned in the report but we have no information on the context,” Jourdain said.

“Like all NRL clubs mentioned in this report, we will co-operate fully with the NRL and ASADA.

“Until we receive a briefing on Tuesday afternoon, we will not be making any further public comment.

“We strongly support this investigation.”

A number of other clubs are thought to also be under investigation by NRL auditors, wihile other have yet to be contacted.
