The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys announced today that promising young players Karl Johnson and Ben Farrar had been signed to the club for the next 2 years.

Karl Johnson is an outside back from North Sydney's Premier League team where he is the leading try scorer. The 22 year old has represented the Junior Kiwis and New Zealand A before coming to Australia. He is 189cms tall and weighs 95 kgs.

Ben Farrar is a 20 year old centre who is in his 2nd year with the Parramatta Eels. Ben has represented New South Wales at under 17 level as well as NSW Combined Catholic Colleges. Ben has impressed Cowboys Recruitment Manager Peter Jones every time he has seen him play.

North Queensland Toyota Cowboys Football Manager Kelly Egan believes these two players combined with Australian Schoolboys representative Obe Geia will strengthen depth in the Cowboys backline. "As a club we have had a focus to recruit good young outside backs and these players plus Jackson Nicolau have helped us in that direction." Egan said.
