Wakefield have signed young centre Corey Hall from Leeds.

Hall, 19, was previously with Trinity’s scholarship programme up until 2018.

He said: “I’m very excited to be back where I first started my professional career.

“I really appreciate being given the opportunity to come back and develop as a player under the coaching staff and I look forward to giving 100% in pre-season.

“I strongly believe that I have a good opportunity and that will be my driving force, to make sure I get the chance off Willie.”

Hall left Wakefield to go to Wigan, before moving to Leeds ahead of the 2020 season.

He was part of the England Academy squad in 2019 and joined the Rhinos on a three-year deal.

But he was limited to just four appearances for Leeds, and spent time on loan with York in 2021.

Trinity Head Coach Willie Poching added: “It’s fantastic that we are able to bring Corey to the club where he first started.

“To able to attract and recruit such a young and prospective English talent is something we, as a club, are very proud to able to do.

“I’m excited to see him slot into our centre competition and challenge for a spot. I look forward to seeing his development over the next couple of seasons.”

Wakefield’s signings and departures

Poching has signed winger Tom Lineham from Warrington and also stand-off Lee Gaskell.

London forward Sadiq Adebiyi and Leigh hooker Liam Hood have also joined Trinity.

GONE: Wakefield announce departure of Ryan Hampshire

Ryan Hampshire has been the highest profile departure, with Connor Bailey, Josh Wood and Joe Arundel dropping down to the Championship.

Furthermore, Wakefield have already confirmed two pre-season friendlies ahead of the 2022 season.

They will take on Leeds in their traditional Boxing Day friendly; while Championship side Featherstone will host Trinity on Sunday January 23.

The new Super League season is slated to start on February 10.
