The Combined Services Rugby League veterans will play a Yorkshire veterans select team consisting of former Great Britain and Super League players on Saturday November 20 at the Big Fellas Stadium, Featherstone.

There will be an auction after the game which kicks off at 1pm to help raise money for the supported charities; Help for Heroes, Combat Stress, Blesma and the Royal British Legion and it is planned that this will become an annual fundraising event.

Combined Services Rugby League Veterans skipper Darrell McClaren said: “The game will provide a great opportunity to raise the profile of Armed Forces Rugby League in the heartland of the game.

“A very tough game and a very memorable day are guaranteed and we look forward to forging links with some of the legends of Rugby League and raising funds for worthy causes.”

Leeds Rhinos Head Coach , Brian McDermott will coach the Combined Services Rugby League veterans team for this fixture and the squad will benefit from the use of the Rhinos’ training facilities as they prepare for the clash.

The Yorkshire Veterans side hasn’t yet been revealed but last year involved stars such as Barrie McDermott, Terry O’Connor, Darryl Powell, Paul Newlove and Dean Sampson.

Entry to the game is by way of donation to the supported charities.
