Chris Chester hopeful of Wakefield adding “one or two” recruits

Wakefield coach Chris Chester admitted the club are close to bringing in one or two players in the coming days.

Trinity only had 17 first-team players available for training when they returned from a five-day break last week.

Winger Mason Caton-Brown left the club over the weekend but Chester believes Wakefield are on the verge of making a signing or two.

Speaking at his press conference ahead of their visit to St Helens, Chester revealed: “I am hopeful that we can get somebody in this week.

“As with anybody coming in, it comes down to the budget because we have got plenty of salary cap space.

“I am fairly hopeful that we are going to bring somebody in – if not this week, then certainly next week.

“We are looking at one body and it would be great if we could get a second person as well.”
