Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad will not represent Cook Islands at World Cup 9s

Canberra Raiders star Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad has ruled himself out of representing the Cook Islands at the World Cup 9s.

The 24-year-old burst onto the NRL scene for the Raiders earlier this year and has scored 11 tries in 24 matches.

Nicoll-Klokstad has already earned four caps for the Cook Islands – but he will not feature for the Kukis in this autumn’s World Cup 9s tournament.

He told NRL.com: “I probably won’t play in the international 9s this year.

“My body has been through a bit this year but I will be definitely going down to support.

“I was like “I’m definitely going to be playing in that” but that was before I played first-grade so it is a little bit different in this week-to-week schedule in first-grade.

“First-grade is a lot harder than it seems so that’s what I’ll be doing.”
