Channing secures permanent Castleford move

Castleford have completed the signing of London centre Michael Channing on a permanent deal.

Channing, 21, scored three tries in four appearances for the Tigers on loan this year, and has now signed a two-year deal.

He said: “I’m really happy to get a permanent deal sorted at Castleford.

“Cas are one of the big names in Super League, so it’s good to be offered a contract from being on-loan.”

Guildford-born Channing came through the ranks at the Broncos and is a full Wales international – although injury will rule him out of this year’s World Cup.

Tigers Head Coach Daryl Powell said: “Michael has fitted into the club seamlessly as both a player and a person.

“He is a young centre with a lot of potential who will continue to thrive in our culture.

“His footwork is outstanding as is his ability to get the ball to his winger. Alongside that, his defence has improved massively during his time at our club and I am delighted that he is staying with us.”
