Featherstone had a late Ian Hardman try to thank for a 30-24 win over Leigh on Thursday. Tom Saxton scored twice for Rovers, who kept up the pressure on Halifax and Barrow at the top of the Championship ladder.

Barrow saw off a brave Sheffield side on Saturday, winning 26-18. Chris Larkin scored twice for the Raiders.

Batley Bulldogs pulled off an outstanding win over a misfiring Widnes side on Sunday. David Tootill’s score in the 75th minute and Ian Preece‘s second try with a minute gave the Bulldogs a 40-34 victory over the Vikings, who saw recently-returned forward Iain Morrison cross for three tries in vain.

Whitehaven defeated Doncaster 50-12. Paul Ballard, recently signed on loan from Celtic Crusaders, crossed for four tries.

In the Championship One, Keighley blew Workington away on a boiling hot afternoon in Yorkshire. Carl Hughes crossed for four tries, while Dan Potter and Gavin Duffy scored twice each.

Hunslet overcame London Skolars in the capital 34-18. Mark, Howey, Faal, Moss and Richardson scored the Hawks’ tries.

A late Graham Holroyd field goal propelled Swinton to victory over Rochdale, the one pointer giving the Lions a 23-22 win.

Dewsbury sneaked to a 24-18 win at York. Spurr, Buchanan, Finn and Bostock scored the tries for the Rams.
