Championship Round Six: Results and round-up

Promotion favourites Featherstone remain top of the Championship table, having won all six of their games so far this season.

There were two Championship hames on Saturday. London Broncos picked up an impressive 36-6 win on the road against Newcastle Thunder.

The Broncos had nine international players in action – Alex Walker (Scotland), Paul Ulberg (Cook Islands), Ethan Natoli, Dean Parata (both Italy), Dalton Grant (Wales), Lewis Bienek (Ireland), Wellington Albert, Emmanuel Waine (both Papua New Guinea) and Henry Raiwalui (Fiji).

Toulouse Olympique edged past Widnes Vikings 14-12 at the DCBL Stadium thanks to a late winner from Paul Marcon.

Joe Bretherton and Reubenn Rennie also scored for the French side. Meanwhile, Ryan Ince, Kieran Dixon and Joe Edge crossed for the Vikings.

And there were four games on Sunday afternoon. Bradford Bulls picked up a 32-18 win against Sheffield Eagles at Odsal.

Joe Arundel, George Flanagan Sr, Tom Holmes (2) and Liam Tindall went over for the Bulls, with Dec Patton kicking six goals.

Halifax Panthers were too strong for the newly-promoted Keighley Cougars as they won 34-10 at The Shay.

James Saltonstall, Joe Keyes, Ben Kavanagh, Lachlan Walmsley (2) and Tom Inman got on the scoresheet for Simon Grix’s outfit.

League leaders Featherstone Rovers won 34-6 against Swinton Lions at Heywood Road.

Gareth Gale, Kyle Ecans (2), Josh Hardcastle, Thomas Lacans, Connor Jones and Caleb Aekins went over for the high flying Rovers.

Whitehaven picked up their second win of the season as they won 14-12 at York Knights.

Daniel Spencer-Tonks (2) and Curtis Teare went over for Haven.

In the televised game on Monday night, Batley Bulldogs host Cumbrian outfit Barrow Raiders at Mount Pleasant.
