Elsewhere in the Championship

Wigan centre Iain Thornley has joined Championship side Barrow on a one-month loan deal as he continues his recovery from a lengthy injury lay-off.

The 31-year-old hasn’t played since picking up a knee injury last June against Castleford.

Swinton have signed young forward Ben Forster on an initial two-week loan deal from fellow Championship side Halifax.

Forster is yet to make his debut for the Panthers since arriving from League 1 side Rochdale in the off-season.

Meanwhile, Swinton have loaned full-back Joey Romeo and forward Morgan Burgess to League 1 side Midlands Hurricanes on one-month loan deals.

Halifax Panthers have announced that winger James Saltonstall has signed a new one-year deal with the club, keeping him at The Shay until at least the end of 2024.

The new deal will see the 29-year-old into his 10th season with the club, having joined his hometown team from Warrington in 2014.

Whitehaven have re-signed Italy international Ryan King on a deal until the end of the season following his release from Halifax.

The 25-year-old left Haven at the end of last season to take up an opportunity with fellow Championship club Halifax.

But last week King was granted a release from his contract with the Panthers after playing just two games.
