Chairman Phil Davies has plans to take the club to Super League in the future, but everyone at the Neath-based Scorpions is well aware that the side must first prove their worth in Championship 1.

Loz Wildbore is the stand-out name in a squad littered with exciting, young Welsh talent. The term “unknown quantity” has never been more appropriate and coach Anthony Seibold will be looking to use the tag to his advantage.

The Scorpions will be aiming to put a competitive side on the field for the first few weeks of the season. Once they’ve done that, who knows how far they can go? The rest of the rugby league world will be watching with interest
