Championship 1 Preview: Hunslet Hawks

After a much-improved season in 2009, the Hawks will be going all out this year to seal promotion from Championship 1.

New head coach Paul March, who joined towards the end of 2009, has brought in a number of players from his former club York – including brother David, John Oakes and Danny Grimshaw.

Tommy Haughey and Stuart Kain have joined from Featherstone and should prove to be shrewd signings at this level, while the centre/wing partnership of Wayne McHugh and Michael Mark will undoubtedly wreak havoc this season.

Hawks fans can expect a serious challenge for promotion this season, whether they are successful or not will depend on how well they harness the obvious talent in the squad.
