Challenge Cup round-up: Round 2

There were a couple of upsets in round two of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup.

Featherstone Lions progressed into the third round after beating Thatto Heath Crusaders 18-6 in a game which was streamed LIVE on the BBC Sport website.

Hunslet Club Parkside eased past Wath Brow Hornets 24-6 at home.

NCL division three club Millom caused an upset as they beat division one side Bradford Dudley hill 24-12.

Shaw Cross Sharks suffered a 24-10 defeat away to Oulton Raiders.

Askam beat West Hull, who are two divisions above them, 16-4.

A drop-goal was the only thing to separate the Batley Boys and the Royal Air Force, with Batley running out 13-12 winners.

Division one side Lock Lane were stunned as they lost 12-4 to Distington.

Orrell St James were downed by Kells, meaning that four Cumbrian sides progressed through to the third round.

In what was a scrappy affair, Pilkington Recs saw off Thornhill Trojans with a 16-0 home victory.

No university teams are in the third round this year after the University of Hull were downed 22-18 by Myton Warriors.

The Army edged past London Chargers in a 26-14 thriller in Aldershot.

And Normanton Knights made the third round with a narrow 8-4 win at Rochdale Mayfield.
