Cornwall found themselves 10-4 down at the break, with centre Tom Ashton scoring their only try of the first 40.

Cam Brown and Harry Aaronson crossed in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to book their place in the third round of the Challenge Cup.

Former Wales international and Sean Penkywicz and Fiji’s Joe Taira featuring for the National Conference League Premier Division side.

However, they fell to a 68-14 defeat in the second round to North West Mens Premier Division outfit Orrell St James.

Elsewhere, North Wales Crusaders claimed a 70-0 victory over the Royal Navy, with 48 points scored in the second 40.

There are six more ties on Sunday, including two all-League 1 fixtures between Rochdale and London Skolars alongside Doncaster versus Oldham.
