Catalans wait on Gigot appeal

Catalans are hopeful of welcoming back Tony Gigot to their squad for the trip to Leigh on Friday.

Gigot, 26, was banned for two years by the French Federation for “inappropriate behaviour” towards an anti-doping officer apparently in the build-up to France’s test match against England in October.

The full-back played 30 of the Dragons 32 games last season.

In announcing their squad for Friday’s game, the club said: “The staff has named a 18 man squad, waiting for the decision of Tony Gigot appeal to his suspension.”

Brayden Williame and Thibaud Margalet return to Laurent Frayssinous’ squad, with Thomas Bosc, Justin Horo and Fouad Yaha missing out.

Catalans are on a run of five games without a win.
