Catalans Grant Hindmarsh Release

The Catalans Dragons have confirmed that they have granted Australian player Ian Hindmarsh a release. Hindmarsh, who had originally been contracted to the club until the end of 2008, was granted the release after he expressed his wishes to return to his home country to take care of some personal matters there.

The hard working second rower has played an integral part in the Catalans Dragons debut season in the engage Super League competition.

Catalans Dragons coach Mick Potter has said "Ian is a tough, courageous and consistent player. He has made a very positive impact on the team during his time here and naturally we are sad to see him leave".

General Manager Christophe Levy said "It is always disappointing to lose a player of Ian's calibre, however, when a player comes to the club requesting a release, particularly for matters other than those related to playing rugby league, we would not stand in his way. Ian leaves the club on very good terms and we wish him all the best for his future".

Hindmarsh will stay on with the Catalans Dragons for the remainder of the 2006 season.
