Castleford confirm Moore and McMeeken signings

Castleford have signed London pair Scott Moore and Mike McMeeken, as well as announcing a number of player departures and re-signings.

Moore, 26, had a loan spell with the Tigers back in 2008 and signs a two-year deal, as does 20-year-old forward McMeeken.

They become signing three and four from the Broncos, following on from the captures of Denny Solomona and Matt Cook.

Winger James Clare (end of 2016) and forward Grant Millington (end of 2018) have signed new deals, but the club has confirmed that Craig Huby will join Jamie Ellis, Daryl Clark, Weller Hauraki, Lee Gilmour and Dan Fleming in leaving the club at the end of the season.

Coach Daryl Powell said: “Scott Moore will be a crucial addition to our squad for next year, I am confident he will along with Adam Milner give us creative options at hooker and his experience will be invaluable. He was an international squad player not too long ago and we are looking forward to welcoming him to our club.

Mike McMeeken is a big robust back rower who I am confident has a big future in the game. He is also very young with a great desire to be successful which are both key qualities. He was very good against us in both games this season with his strong ball running and offload game.”
