Carl Forster joins Barrow

Barrow have signed prop Carl Forster on a one-year deal from Whitehaven.

The 27-year-old recently left Cumbrian club Whitehaven to be closer to his home in St Helens. He made 19 appearances last season for Rochdale and Haven.

In a statement released by the Raiders, it read: “Carl is very much focusing on his playing career at the moment and can’t wait to get started with his new club.

“Many clubs were after the signature of Carl and there is no doubt that he is capable of performing at a much higher level but he was sold to the club by coach Paul Crarey, players’ director Andy Gafney and the good vibes around the place, despite relegation.

“Carl is very much of the opinion that he can repeat the League 1 winning performance of his previous club and help the Raiders make a quick return to the Championship.”
