Bulls expecting awkward Roughyeds

Bradford coach Rohan Smith is anticipating his team having to deal with a fired-up Oldham this Sunday at the Provident Stadium.

Smith’s men won 44-22 at home to Halifax last week, and the Bulls coach felt that there were still things on which his players needed to work.

“I expect a team to come and enjoy their time at the Provident Stadium and give us a hard time and really come and spoil the party,” he said.

“We are really chasing a quality performance and both of our last two matches have had a lot of quality to them, but they’ve also had too many lapses.

“So we are looking to focus on the process that will lead us to a quality performance.”

Oldham coach Scott Naylor acknowledges that his team received a boost to their confidence after their 30-8 win at Swinton last weekend.

“It was important win coming off the Workington game,” he said.

“It was nice for things to go our way and for us to get off to two winning starts, which hopefully puts us in a strong position.

“Bradford are at the top of our mini-league and they played well against Halifax last week. We went there a couple of weeks ago and were OK in the first half but didn’t perform that well in the second half.

“But we go there on the back of two wins and as always, we’ve just got to go there and have a go.”
