Boudebza sees threat from old friends

Hull KR‘s French hooker John Boudebza is looking forward to seeing some familiar faces when Catalans Dragons come to the KC Lightstream Stadium this weekend.

Boudebza, who joined Rovers from French club FC Lezignan in the close season, is a former Dragons junior, and he is expecting his old friends to pose some tough questions of the home team.

“I’m looking forward to it, if I get the chance,” he told Rovers Review.

“I liked watching Catalans last year. They are a good team, they play well on the ‘free play’ and they have good players like Todd Carney and Willie Tonga who will make it very difficult for defences this year.

“I think it will be a tough game, but if we play like the second half against Wigan and against Warrington, then I think it will be a very good game.

“I don’t think there is extra motivation for me against Catalans. I want to play in each game, I want to play well in each game and I want to win each game.

“It would be good to play well against other members of the national team, but the season is long and the more games I play, the more I will improve my level.”
