Hull KR hooker John Boudebza has been suspensed for four matches for his tackle on Castleford centre Michael Shenton.

Shenton was injured in the tackle in Suday’s game and is set to miss the whole 2016 season.

Boudebza was placed on report for the tackle and was expected to potentialyl receive a one or two match ban. But that has been extended by the RFL because of Shenton’s injury.

The RFL said in a statement: “The injury caused to Shenton was deemed an aggravating factor in this case and the Tribunal has the discretion to step outside of the normal grading ranges in the following circumstance:

“If the Compliance Manager seeks a higher sanction in the light of specified aggravating factors, and the Tribunal agree that such factors mean a higher sanction should be imposed.

“An Early Guilty Plea was available, however the Match Review Panel elected to withdraw this option as a serious injury was caused.”

The Hull KR forward, who pleaded not guilty, was also fined £300.
