Bradford have completed the signing Warrington centre, Matty Blythe on a permanent basis after he impressed on loan at the Provident Stadium.

The 24 year-old has made 14 appearances for the Bulls this year and will begin a three year contract from next season.

“I’m really happy that I’ve got my future secure and I’m ready to kick on,” Blythe said.

“I spoke to Tony Smith and we both came to the conclusion that I needed more rugby.

“I wanted to be playing Super League week in week out and this deal at Bradford is a great opportunity to do that.”

Blythe has been stuck behind Ryan Atkins, Chris Bridge and Stefan Ratchford at the Halliwell Jones but will be a welcome addition for Bradford who are in the process of bolstering their side for 2014.

Francis Cummins has already confirmed the signing of Huddersfield duo Dale Ferguson and Luke George plus Wolves forward, Gareth Carvell but at least one more deal is in the pipeline.

“Matty is someone who has been in the Warrington system but has been given a chance here and is enjoying it,” Cummins added. “He will only get better.

“Matty is an important signing for this club and for him to agree three years is a huge thing.

“It shows you that players are willing to commit their future here and back the club.”
